The glasses allowance and the dental benefit are very important to me as diabetic and coronary disease patient. To pay for the glasses every two years I had to pinch pennies saving for them, and even then I had to Rob-Peter-to-Pay-Paul for six months afterward to get caught up. As diabetes causes tooth decay which can release bacteria that can affect my heart, the dental benefit is beneficial twice. I could not afford dental care without it. There are other benefits I do not access yet, but it’s nice to know they will be there for me when they are needed. Living on about 800 a month (SS), these are stress relieving benefits. I will get to enjoy my grandnieces (ages 5&7) and provide the experience of extended older family that I so cherish as having had at their age.
