Medicare Advantage provides healthcare coverage for my severe health problems. I have been disabled and on Medicare since 2001 due to severe arachnoiditis in my spine. I also have stage 3 kidney disease, heart disease, glaucoma, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Without Medicare Advantage, my healthcare expenses would be completely unmanageable, as my income is limited to Social Security Disability and a small long-term disability insurance policy which will terminate this year. My monthly prescriptions are costly, even with the Part D program, because pharmaceutical patient assistance programs disqualify Medicare and Medicaid recipients. The Medicare Advantage program is extremely important for seniors, without it we would be forced to go without medical care.

There are a lot of seniors who can’t afford or can’t get supplements due to medical problems. Living on a fixed income, I’m one of them. This is a great alternative for those of us who need this coverage.

Medicare Advantage allows me to see my primary doctor for a low copay, my prescriptions are covered and I am able to get them delivered to my home quickly.
