There are a number of issues that impact Medicare Advantage and the care that seniors enrolled in Medicare Advantage receive. Our mission is to make sure seniors and people with disabilities have access to the best quality, most affordable health care that is flexible enough to meet their needs.
That’s why we focus on Medicare Advantage in our research, and that’s why the issues below are our priority focus this year.
Special Needs Plans
2.4 million frail, disabled and chronically-ill seniors receive specialized and targeted health care through Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (SNPs). We support permanently authorizing Special Needs Plans (SNPS) which ensure that all Medicare beneficiaries receive the care they need and deserve.
Currently in Medicare Advantage, a cap is placed on enhanced benefits like vision, dental, hearing, and wellness programs offered by the highest preforming health insurance plans – which negatively impacts 3 million seniors. We support lifting this cap so seniors aren’t faced with higher costs and fewer benefits.
